Book and Dust Jacket Gallery

The books were printed in several different colors of binding and with several different illustrations on the front cover. I have pictured the books that I had in my possession at the time that I created this page. I do not know how many variations there are.

Most of the books have white spine dust jackets that have a spine symbol. The white spine dust jackets of volumes 9 and 10 do not have spine symbols. I have two white spine dust jackets of earlier titles that have spine symbols but the girl's dress is white instead of yellow. As far as I can tell, the dust jackets are not faded.

The solid blue book shown further down on this page, without a front cover illustration, is from the 1930s. The dust jacket for it has a yellow spine, while all of the dust jackets from the 1920s have a white spine. I do not know whether all of the books were issued with yellow spine dust jackets. The front flap of the yellow spine dust jacket lists only volumes 3, 4, 5, and 6, so it is possible that only those titles were reprinted during the 1930s.

The book and jacket that I have from the 1930s is of higher quality than the books and jackets from the 1920s. Anyone who has collected the early Beverly Gray books or other A. L. Burt books from the 1930s will know the kind of quality that the Burt books from the 1930s have. The books from the 1920s have good quality paper like the later books, but the books are less thick, shorter, and the jackets have nothing printed on the flaps. The books from the 1930s are heavier due to the larger size.

Pictured at the right are the white spine dust jacket with a spine symbol, the white spine dust jacket without a spine symbol, and the yellow spine dust jacket. I have all ten volumes with white spine dust jackets and just the one book with a yellow spine dust jacket.
