| All of the FLB books have the cover art from The Whispered Watchword featured on the front cover of the book. Volumes 1 through 38 were issued in this style. What is interesting is that the FLB books were bound during the 1970s, after the Judy Bolton series went out of print. All of the FLB books that I have seen have pre-text lists that end at #34 or above, and this means that the FLB books were originally picture cover editions. It is likely that remaindered picture covers (publisher overstock that did not sell) were rebound into these editions. The conversion of many picture covers into library bindings is another reason why there are so few surviving Judy Bolton picture cover editions. | |||||
